We are now hiring for the following position:


SELECTION PROCESS




Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of completed application package submitted by candidate. Completed application package includes: letter of interest detailing experience as related to the position, an eForm application, resume, a copy of transcripts and a one page statement of your teaching philosophy. All candidates, including current Front Range Community College employees must submit a complete application packet which includes all material listed above. Only completed application packets will move forward for screening. If hired, official college transcripts will be required. Please review the job duties and minimum requirements carefully. It is your responsibility to demonstrate on your application that you meet all of the minimum requirements listed above to be considered. Failure to do so will result in your application being rejected. Selected applicants will be invited by the screening committee for interviews and will be required to give a brief teaching demonstration. All application materials become the property of Front Range Community College and cannot be copied. FRCC will conduct a criminal background check on selected candidate. Employment offers and continued employment are contingent upon receiving a satisfactory report.


GENERAL SUMMARY


The Nurse Aide Program Director is a licensed registered nurse who is responsible for curriculum development, planning, teaching, monitoring and evaluating student learning in the classroom, practice laboratory, and clinical practice setting. Full-time faculty at Front Range Community College are expected to assume instructional leadership roles including recruiting, recommending hiring of, evaluating, and mentoring part time instructors, ongoing assessment of student academic achievement, developing and evaluating program outcomes, securing and maintaining clinical instruction sites, scheduling classes, student advising, and serving on departmental and college-wide committees.


PRIMARY DUTIES



  1. Assisting with the development of the department budget.

  2. Initial and ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum and program.

  3. Securing and evaluating the appropriate number of qualified instructors, including RN, LPN and ancillary instructors who deliver classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction to students.

  4. Securing appropriate classroom and clinical facilities, which can be located separately.

  5. Ensuring an orientation of the students to each clinical facility. Such orientation may not be included as part of the minimum 75 hour training program.

  6. Assuring that each student is clearly identified as a student in a manner easily recognizable to clients, family members, visitors, and staff.

  7. Planning for classroom, laboratory and clinical learning experiences.

  8. Securing written affiliation agreements between FRCC and the outside providers of clinical resources.

  9. Reporting to the Colorado Board of Nursing (Board), by means established by the Board, the names of all individuals who have satisfactorily completed the training program within 30 days of program completion.

  10. Providing for the safe keeping of a system of permanent records and reports essential to the operation of the program for a minimum of two years, which shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

    1. A skills checklist that demonstrates satisfactory performance of all required skills for each student.

    2. Student records such as attendance, test scores, etc.

    3. Annual report to be submitted to the Board on the form furnished by the Board

    4. Instructors records such as license, resume, training.



  11. Developing written policies for admission to, dismissal from, and completion of the program.

  12. Providing for a systematic plan to evaluate the program.


REQUIRED EDUCATION


Bachelor of Science in Nursing


Documented course work in teaching adults.


PREFERRED EDUCATION


Master of Science in Nursing or Education.


REQUIRED



  1. Two years of full-time nursing experience in caring for the elderly and/or the chronically ill of any age. At least one year must be in the provision of services in a long-term care facility.

  2. Hold an active Colorado professional nursing license in good standing.

  3. Colorado Vocational Credential (or eligibility to obtain).

  4. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider-C Verification.

  5. Train the Trainer Certificate.

  6. Medical and nursing equipment relevant to areas of practice.

  7. Classroom and Computer technology.

  8. Ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English.


PREFERRED



  1. Teaching experience in nursing in the classroom, laboratory and clinical setting.

  2. Community College teaching experience.

  3. Management experience.
