Job Summary/Basic Function: Founded in 2005, Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) is the 31st member of the University System of Georgia. GGC is a premier 21st century four-year liberal arts institution accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools. With a current enrollment of over 9,000 students, enrollment is projected to exceed 13,000 students within three years, including both residential and commuter students. Located in the greater Atlanta metropolitan area, GGC provides a student centered, technology-enriched learning environment. Gwinnett County (pop. 850,000+) is home to a variety of businesses, including organizations involved in health care, education and information technology.


Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) is seeking candidates for the position of charter faculty of the School of Nursing. Reporting to the Dean of Health Sciences, the faculty member will be responsible for working closely with the Dean of the School of Health Sciences and the nursing program Director in implementation of the conceptual-based curriculum. Faculty will be responsible for teaching across the curriculum; utilizing state-of-the art technology to enhance the student's learning experience. Faculty utilizes the program's conceptual framework of caring in teaching, service, leadership, and scholarship. Faculty serve as coaches in the learning experience both in the classroom and clinical areas and use intentional mentoring to engage students that fosters student success.


Responsibilities:

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Curriculum implementation, and evaluation

  • Teaching including classroom and clinical

  • Advising and Mentoring

  • Service

  • Scholarship

  • Other related duties as assigned


Salary: Commensurate with education and experience with excellent benefits.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Requirements:



  • Master's degree in Nursing required with PhD in nursing preferred.

  • Excellent academic credentials in teaching, scholarship, and service

  • Established record of program evaluation

  • Recent clinical experience, including simulation

  • Current Georgia nursing license in good standing with Georgia Board of Nursing

  • A strong commitment to diversity and shared governance

  • Experience working with clinical site partners, regulator and accreditation agencies
