Assistant Professor of English - Children's Literature Specialist (9 mos. Tenure-track) - JOB CODE: F11418. The Department of Languages and Literature seeks a tenure-track faculty member in English (with a specialty in Children's Literature) at the assistant professor level to teach face-to-face and on-line classes in Children's Literature, Adolescent Literature, and writing courses. This position will begin in August 2014. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Children's Literature or English, Rhetoric and Composition, or related field with substantial graduate course work in Children's Literature by August 1, 2014. Applicants must also have a proven ability to teach Children's Literature and writing.


Assistant Professor of English - Medical or Health Professions Writing Specialist (9 mos. Tenure-track) - JOB CODE: F11419. The Department of Languages and Literature seeks a tenure-track faculty member in English (with a specialty in Medical or Health Professions Writing) at the assistant professor level to teach face-to-face and on-line courses in advanced writing for the health professions, technical communication, as well as additional literature and writing courses appropriate to qualifications. This position will begin in August 2014. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or related field with graduate course work, publications, and/or professional experience of writing in the health care professions by August 1, 2014. Applicants must also have a proven ability to teach professional writing.


Assistant/Associate Professor Core Health Sciences - JOB CODE:F11414/F11009. The College of Health Professions is accepting applications for two 9-month tenure track faculty positions which includes teaching and related responsibilities in the interdisciplinary Health Science and Core Curriculum programs and courses. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising students, orientation and registration of students, participation in University committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance. Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus. Required: Master's degree in Health Science discipline within the College or pertinent to future programming in public health and informatics. Completion of a doctorate program in health science or a related field will be required to stand for tenure. Valid Driver's license with at least 2 years of prior work experience in a health related field. Prior teaching experience in higher education in areas such as research, statistics, epidemiology, health informatics, public health or global health.


Assistant/Associate Professor of Health Care Systems Administration - JOB CODE: F11119. The Health Care Systems Administration program is currently accepting applications for a 9 month tenure-track faculty position in the health care systems administration program. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising students, orientation and registration of students, participation in University committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance. Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus. Required: Master's degree in health administration, health management, public health, business or related field with a health concentration; or a related doctorate degree with a health concentration. Complete terminal degree before applying for tenure (preferably one year before tenure application). Valid driver's license with at least 2 years of prior work experience in a supervisory and/or management role in a health care setting; prior teaching in higher education.


Assistant Professor of Optometry (12 mos. Tenure-track) - JOB CODE: F11398. The successful applicant will assume duties in patient care and teaching in the clinic, classroom and laboratories and produce scholarly works. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising students, participation in University and professional committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance. This position is a 12-month tenure track position. At the time of appointment, applicants must hold a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree; have or be eligible to obtain a Michigan optometry license with TPA certification; and must also have completed an accredited optometric residency, or have an equivalent degree or experience in patient care and/or the didactic and clinical training of optometry students. Applicants should also demonstrate experience with and/or a strong interest in clinical and didactic instruction in primary care optometry with an emphasis in public health and medical billing/coding.


Assistant Professor of Spanish (9 mos. Tenure-track) - JOB CODE: F11417. The Department of Languages and Literature seeks a tenure-track faculty member in Spanish at the assistant professor level to teach a range of lower- and upper-division undergraduate Spanish language and culture classes serving the general education program and the Spanish minor; as well as linguistics and teaching methodology for the Spanish education minor. This position will begin in August 2014. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Spanish, Hispanic Cultural Studies or related field by August 1, 2014. Applicants must also have the potential for undergraduate teaching excellence.


HVACR Faculty (9 mos. Tenure-track) - JOB CODE: F11421. The Department of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position. Primary responsibilities include: preparing and delivering courses utilizing effective methods that ensure that all course outcomes are met; and delivering courses in both a classroom and an online format. Additionally, advising students, recruiting students, developing industry relationships, developing curriculum, and serving on various committees with the department, college, and the university. Required: Bachelor of Science in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Completion of the Masters degree before applying for tenure. (preferably one year before tenure application) . Minimum of two years of industry experience in a position related to HVACR.


Management Faculty (9mo Tenure Track) - JOB CODE: F11131. Teach general management topics; undergraduate courses in strategy, management, business analytics, and capstone simulation classes for a start. May also be required to occasionally teach at the graduate level. To foster a meaningful learning experience for our students, faculty are expected to be student-oriented, to advise, to integrate current technology into the learning environment, assessment, to enjoy participating in collaborative efforts to foster curricular and programmatic enhancement. In support of teaching, they will engage in scholarly/professional activities. Some off-campus or online teaching may be required. Required: earned doctorate in a relevant field; will consider ABD with substantial progress towards degree completion. Minimum two years of significant managerial business experience. Training/experience appropriate to champion integrative curricular efforts, particularly in relation to business policy and strategic management; the ability to merge theory and practice; and, excellent interpersonal and communications skills.


Nursing Faculty (9 mos. Tenure-track) - JOB CODE: F11232. The College of Health professions is seeking applications for a 9-month, tenure track faculty position which includes teaching and related responsibilities in the graduate and undergraduate nursing programs within the School of Nursing. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising students, orientation and registration of students, participation in University committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance. Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus. Required: Master's degree in Nursing. Completion of a Doctorate degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP) is required to stand for tenure (preferably one year before tenure application). Current licensure as a Registered Nurse; Valid driver's license. Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience; previous teaching experience as a clinical or didactic instructor.


Secretary Level 3 - JOB CODE: C13198. Provide responsible, independent secretarial support within established departmental policies and procedures. Required: Satisfactory completion of three years college or equivalent such as military technical training or business/technical schooling. Two years full-time secretarial work experience to include advanced bookkeeping, office supervisory responsibility, and public contact where tact and diplomacy are required.
