Assistant/Associate Professor – Tenure Track


Posting Description: The College of Nursing invites qualified individuals to apply for a full-time position as an Assistant Professor in the tenure teaching track. Established Assistant Professors ready for promotion to Associate Professor also will be considered. Based on one's background and experience, responsibilities may include participation in the teaching, research and/or practice missions of the College and University. Service and scholarship are expected of all faculty. The College of Nursing is located on the Anschutz Medical campus along with the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Public Health. The college offers four degrees: BS, MS, PhD, and DNP. Specialty options within the Master's program include Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Health Care Informatics, i-LEAD Nursing Leadership and Health Care Systems, Nurse-Midwifery, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Nursing Leadership & Special Needs, Special Studies for Certified Nurse Practitioners, and Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner. Practice at the College of Nursing is based on years of innovation and excellence, rooted largely in our recognition as the birthplace of nurse practitioner education. We are national leaders in nurse-managed care. Our federally qualified health center, Sheridan Health Services, provides an integrated, patient-centered care model for persons of all ages. Our nationally renowned midwifery practices include behavioral health as well as water birth. With regard to clinical education, we were one of the 15 pilot schools to test learning activities for the Quality and Safety Education in Nursing initiative. The college also was one of six schools to test interprofessional learning activities in the "Retooling for Quality and Safety" initiative spearheaded by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), its Open School, and Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation. Our research mission has two primary foci: biobehavioral science and health care systems. The college's faculty are engaged in bold steps to move to team-based science, develop team-based areas of excellence, speed the development of new knowledge through diverse funding mechanisms, and accelerate the application of research through innovative academic-practice partnerships. Minimum Qualifications: * A bachelor's and master's degree in nursing and an earned doctorate in nursing or related field * A beginning record of research and scholarship for tenure track position
