Instructor / Program Coordinator – Practical Nursing Program

Subject areas: LPN Instructor related to courses -- Medical Surgical, Basic Nursing Skills, OB, PEDs, Anatomy & Physiology, Pharmacology, Gerontology.

Position Scope:


The instructor / Program Coordinator would teach didactic and clinical courses to Licensed Practical Nurse students. The instructor should have a current RN license, and should have an MSN or Ph.D. degree. The individual should be able to communicate with a diverse group of students. This position holds an important role, with significant opportunity for growth as the school grows. The Coordinator of the Practical Nurse Program should have substantial management skills to oversee the Nursing Department.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Dedication to teaching

  • Help students with diverse background

  • High level of computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, scanning, use of Internet). Plan to offer on-line courses as well.

  • Filing of student grades, and other student documents, digitally and on paper

  • Attention to detail

  • Good organizational skills

  • Efficient in getting jobs done, and getting things done

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Willingness to learn, if needed

  • Multi-tasking ability

  • Ability to quickly learn the policies of the school and Pennsylvania Board of Nursing

  • Follow the PITC operations manual, or modify when necessary

  • Demonstrate ability to achieve measurable goals

  • Mature, reliable, and honest

  • At least 3 years of experience in nursing
