Responsibilities:
The Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse Manager oversees 50 employees in the assigned areas, coordinating the level of care to identify patient needs, providing clinical and material support to staff, and ensuring continual quality improvement and fiscal accountability. Other responsibilities include:
Create a trusting, collaborative relationship with staff, physicians, peers and other disciplines.
Support research projects within the cardiac cath lab.
Participate in identification and resolution of operational issues of the cath lab pertaining to aspects of patient care by facilitating communication between necessary parties.
Provide appropriate skilled nurse to patient ratio in the cath lab to ensure patient safety and minimize adverse events.
Assess, encourage and support cath lab staff and coordinator education/training through nursing orientation, ongoing educational seminars and specialty programs.
Ensure quality in the provision of patient care services in the cath lab through overseeing the development and implementation of protocols, and comprehensive care management. Facilitating evaluation of patient care outcomes and developing of plan of action to maintain patient quality of care.
Perform daily rounds in the patient care areas to ensure Service Excellence.
Plan, direct and monitor scheduling, budgets and human resource utilization to meet staffing needs.
Perform leadership rounds with staff to ensure proper resources are available to care for the patients.
Develop, implement and maintain the annual operating budget, ensuring that operations are managed within the established guidelines.
Set expectations for faculty and students during clinical rotations in all specified areas.
Represent nursing at Joint Management meetings, as well as select medical staff supervisory, quality and department meetings.
Assist in the development of the Performance Improvement Plan. Oversee the collection and processing of performance improvement activities of the unit and communicates results to staff and the Director.
Manage employee performance through evaluations, disciplinary process, reward and recognition.
Analyze financial reports on a weekly basis. Report findings to director and collaborate to create action plan for variances. Collaborate with local nursing programs and faculty from local colleges to provide required resources for the faculty as well as to build leadership programs.

Current licensure as a RN in the State of California or eligibility to obtain required
BSN required; MSN preferred
Minimum of 18 months experience working as a Cardiac Cath Lab Manager required
Minimum of 3 years nursing experience is required
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card is required
