Position Summary
The Endowed Professor reports to the Dean of Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing and Health Professions. Responsibilities include providing leadership in the promotion of research; advancement of nursing within the University and San Antonio/South Texas communities; scholarly activities in grantsmanship, research, publications, and professional presentations; and teaching within area of expertise primarily at the graduate nursing level. Position is based on 10 month contract for 3 years which is renewal based on performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service, and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics. The Dunlap Professor will engage in scholarly activities such as research, grantsmanship, and the promotion of nursing inquiry and scholarship among faculty and students.
Required Education
Doctorate in nursing or a related field
Qualified for rank of at least Associate Professor
Master's degree in nursing (unless doctoral degree is in nursing.)
Required Experience
At least five years of effective teaching in baccalaureate or graduate nursing education.
Evidence of practice or teaching in a clinical setting and progressive and sustained scholarship/funding track record.

The ability to successfully seek research funding and grants.
