This position is advertised as a 12-month fixed-term or tenure-track appointment at the title/rank of Assistant Professor or higher.
This concentration is taught in an online, distance education delivery format.
The curriculum prepares graduates who are advanced practice nurses in primary or chronic care. Rated 10th in the country by US News and World Report for online graduate education, the College of Nursing has over 500 graduate students and is a front-runner in preparing nurses to assume advanced practice nursing roles as nurse leaders in increasingly complex healthcare systems.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching in the DNP program including the BSN to DNP AGPCNP and FNP options, Master of Science in Nursing, and Post Masters DNP options, assisting with clinical evaluation, clinical placement, academic advising, and coordination of online students, development and evaluation of relevant courses, participating in DNP scholarly projects, research, and scholarship related to advanced nursing practice and other duties as assigned by program director.
Attendance at on-campus faculty meetings is expected for all full time faculty.
Minimum Qualifications: A valid non-restricted North Carolina nursing license is required upon employment.
Three years of advanced practice clinical experience with five years preferred, approval to practice as a nurse practitioner in North Carolina upon employment, national certification as an AGPCNP, ANP, or FNP, and relevant nurse practitioner clinical precepting and teaching experience are required.
Masters degree in Nursing required.
A Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with certification as an AGNP, ANP, or FNP and demonstrated clinical and teaching experience in NP curricula is preferred.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience, credentials, and scholarship in primary care AGPCNP or FNP.
Online teaching experience is preferred.
A candidate with exceptional clinical and teaching experience who is enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Nursing Practice program with significant progress toward the degree would be considered.
Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
