Grand Canyon University's College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is currently seeking a Doctor of Nursing Practice Program Chair to provide oversight and direction for the Doctor of Nursing Practice program by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the liaison to the College of Doctoral Studies.
- Monitor progress of students within their discipline.
- Contribute to training and supervision of doctoral chairs and committee members.
- Recommend and assist with needed changes in program content to ensure academic rigor and scholarship.
- Assist in the assessment of departmental outcomes.
- Attend required meetings representing the program.
- Assist in learning outcome measurements.
- Supervise the recruitment and selection of faculty.
- Contribute research to improve program and instructional effectiveness.
- Supervise DNP Faculty.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in nursing.
- Active, unencumbered Arizona registered nurse license. National certification such as advanced practice nurse preferred.
- Evidence of scholarly productivity and/or work waiting to be submitted.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and statistics.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience that relates to supervision of academic program.
- Must support GCU's Christian heritage and its mission.
- Knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software, Word Processing software, and Statistical software.
- Experience with supervising thesis and dissertation preferred.
- Experience with online modality for doctorate programs preferred.
