Berkeley College, a four-year institution of higher education focused on preparing students for outstanding achievement in the real world, is pleased to announce a leadership search for a Chairperson of the Nursing Division. The position reports directly to the Dean of the School of Health Studies.
The Chairperson is responsible for the overall strategic and operational administration of the nursing division, which currently includes a multi-campus practical nurse and patient care technician program; with imminent plans for expanded program development. The Chair has overall responsibility and accountability for the academic quality, integrity, and viability of the department, including oversight and management of, associate chairs, faculty, curricula design, and resource development and budget planning.
Requirements:
A doctoral degree in nursing is preferred. Candidates with a master's degree in nursing with an earned doctoral degree will also be considered. Candidates should have 5-8 years of solid management experience; a minimum of 5 years clinical experience; and a minimum of 3 years formal teaching experience in an accredited nursing and/or health sciences program. Candidates must have the ability to engage in creative programmatic development that fosters innovative pedagogies and technologies; and a track record of demonstrated collaboration and transformational leadership skills. A current, and unencumbered, NJ Registered Nurse License is also required.
