Metropolitan State University, America's premier university for lifelong learning is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track, nurse practitioner faculty position in the School of Nursing (SON) to begin January, 2014. The position includes teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs including the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) required. Candidates are expected to be committed to holistic nursing practice, multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching nursing courses in a variety of formats including on-line.
- Advising graduate students including DNP capstone project advising.
- Assisting with coordination and oversight of FNP track including clinical experiences.
- Promoting a multicultural perspective in the development of SON curricula and college activities.
- Participating in college and university governance and committee activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's in nursing and FNP certification.
- Experience equivalent to at least one year as an FNP.
- Eligibility for Minnesota RN licensure.
- Demonstrated ability to work within diverse communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate in nursing or closely related field.
- Experience in teaching undergraduate or graduate nursing students in a variety of formats.
- Experience utilizing a holistic nursing framework.
To be considered for tenure in the fifth year of hire, candidate must have a doctorate completed or have made substantial progress toward a doctoral degree.

Salary: Salary is commensurate with education and experience, and is determined by the salary placement process as outlined in the Inter Faculty Organization (IFO) Master Agreement.
