Salary: $20.00/hr Temporary Position

FLSA Status: Eligible for Overtime

Assist nursing faculty and professional staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating student learning experiences in the Harris College of Nursing Learning Center, practicum and concepts courses, and Academic Excellence Program.

Assist the nursing faculty and professional staff by:

1. Helping students practice in the Harris College of Nursing Learning Center. Practice may include psychomotor, psychosocial, and cognitive skills.

2. Following protocols prepare, organize, and maintain the learning environments in the Learning Center, classroom and practicum site. This includes preparing, organizing, and maintaining space, equipment, and supplies.

3. Managing human resources, time, and material resources in the Learning Center, classroom, and practicum site by maintaining safety and quality; communicating proactively and effectively with the faculty, professional staff and students; and demonstrating clinical reasoning appropriate to assignments.

4. With direct guidance, availability, and consultation of faculty member, supervising students' skills performance, evaluation, and other aspects of student learning in the practicum setting.

5. Coaching and mentoring students' learning through other activities as assigned, such as tutoring, computerized testing, and individualized practice sessions.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Registered Nurse in Texas. Minimum one year of full time clinical practice or evidence of alternative experience appropriate to assignment.
