Dynamic, forward-thinking director sought for School of Nursing at the University of Northern Colorado in the College of Natural and Health Sciences. The University of Northern Colorado is located in Greeley, CO on a beautiful campus with open green space and in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. The director will build within strong programs that are well respected by community partners. Programs include PhD, DNP, FNP, CNL, RN-BSN, Second Degree BSN, and traditional baccalaureate programs.
The director, who holds a full-time, 12-month appointment, is the chief administrative officer and academic leader for the School with responsibilities for academic programs, fiscal resources, and personnel within the School. The director provides leadership to the School in support of undergraduate and graduate education, student success, faculty development & scholarship, academic program accreditation, acquisition of external funding through grants and contracts, fundraising, and, community engagement & partnerships. The director reports to the dean and is expected to work collaboratively and in partnership with members of the college's leadership team and members of the university community.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates for this position must meet all requirements for chief nurse administrators in baccalaureate and graduate degree nursing programs. These requirements include being a registered nurse holding a graduate degree in nursing, and having a doctoral degree in nursing or a closely related field. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a record of teaching excellence, scholarly productivity, and effective leadership and administration sufficient to qualify him/her at the Associate or Full Professor rank.
The director must also demonstrate leadership excellence. Along with other academic leaders in the College of Natural and Health Sciences and at UNC, the director is responsible for actively contributing to and participating in a leadership culture where leaders strive to facilitate a culture of candor; engage in decision-making that is open and transparent; foster shared governance; promote an inclusive and respectful working environment; demonstrate collegial relationships with faculty, staff, students, & administrators; and, effectively balance advocacy for the School with the needs of the College and the wider University. Further, the successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity to lead and manage a complex and diverse academic unit; exhibit stewardship of complex budgets and resources; communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders; develop a shared vision through collaboration with faculty, staff and administrators; facilitate interprofessional collaboration within the College and the University; and respond creatively and collaboratively to opportunities and challenges
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Nursing or a closely related field. Experience in the professional practice of nursing in a patient care environment.

Salary and Benefits
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, life, and dental insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed as 0.5FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.
