The New Jersey Action Coalition (NJAC) was convened to advance the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, organized by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in collaboration with AARP. Toward this goal, NJAC is launching a Nurse Residency Program to provide new graduate nurses with additional education and clinical experience in caring for older adults.
This 24-30 month, externally-funded project is based at Rutgers University in Newark, with statewide travel required. Applications are invited for co-terminus positions of FULL-TIME PROJECT DIRECTOR and FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME FACULTY.
Responsibilities: Working as a team, the Project Director and Faculty will design, manage and teach in the residency program. Duties include project management, curriculum development, interacting with colleagues across healthcare disciplines, securing and building relationships with clinical sites, and traveling to clinical sites to meet with preceptors and students.
Qualifications: PhD or DNP degree preferred. Eligible for New Jersey licensure as RN or APN with appropriate certification. Prior teaching or related experience preferred. Project Director requires strong leadership skills and expertise in project management, data collection and data analysis. Long-term care or gerontology experience preferred for Project Director position. Faculty positions require long-term care or gerontology experience. All positions require a 24-30 month commitment.
