Job Description:
The Associate Dean will report to the Dean of the School of Nursing and is responsible for maintaining daily issues of the nursing program including, but not limited to:
- budget
- faculty and staff issues
- student and faculty recruitment
- curriculum design
- student orientation and graduation
- collaborating with the dean regarding faculty and program-related issues
- supervising nursing faculty and staff in adherence to college policies and procedures
- attending college administrative and other appointments
- updating faculty and staff regarding college issues and appointments
- promoting communication and effective working relationships among nursing team members
- promoting an atmosphere of interdependence among faculty and staff
The college’s nursing graduates will be strong leaders in the profession and help to expand the nursing education capacity of public higher education. The implementation of a new Master of Science in Nursing program is anticipated for the spring of 2014.
This is a 12 month, full-time, management/confidential position located at the Saratoga Springs, NY location with some teaching and advising responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Master of Science in Nursing plus earned doctorate
- R.N. licensure (or eligibility) in New York State
- At least three years of successful teaching and administrative experience in an academic settings
- knowledge of online learning in nursing education
- experience with adult learning, nursing program development and nursing accreditation processes
- outstanding communication, organizational and collaboration skills
- a commitment to public higher education
- engagement with professional organizations
- an entrepreneurial spirit
- leadership on diversity issues
Special Information:
Travel to national conferences and local and regional councils required.
