Job Description:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Team teach a four-hour lecture and supervise a clinical group 12 hours per week, perform all functions related to clinical assignments; make clinical assignments and correct detailed nursing care plans; work within the nursing team responsible for instruction in maternal-child nursing theory and clinical courses; work with faculty team to prepare syllabi and develop curricula addressing course and program requirements and General Education competencies; work with the team to recommend suitable instructional material, textbooks, library acquisitions, etc; use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate; act as the faculty advisor to assigned students; post and maintain a minimum of four (4) office hours per week; serve on College committees as elected or appointed; attend Program, Division, and College Committee meetings; participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes; further professional development through participation in conferences, workshops, seminars and professional associations, and maintain nursing licensure by participating in appropriate continuing education (CEU's); perform other related duties as assigned by the Dean consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Dean for Health Sciences.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current Massachusetts licensure (R.N.); Master of Science in Nursing (MSN); current clinical experience in pediatric and/or Maternal-Child nursing; documented teaching experience in nursing and demonstrable teaching skills; clinical teaching experience in pediatric nursing or maternal-child nursing; knowledge of general computer applications and of nursing computer applications in particular; curriculum development skills; experience working within nursing teams and excellent communications skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Clinical and didactic teaching experience at the college level, preferably at a community college; demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to promote and evaluate student learning; experience working on committees and within teams; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body .
Additional Information:
POSITION STATUS: Full-time, tenure track, MCCC/MTA unit position with benefits.
SALARY: Minimum salary $41,470.00 to $92,555.00 - actual salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and consistent with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
