West Coast University is currently seeking a Manager, Clinical Education for our Miami Campus. This is an outstanding opportunity for a professional to join a growing university as we expand our academic programs in health care and related fields.

Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Campus Dean of Nursing and working closely with the Associate Dean of Nursing, Academics is responsible for maintaining clinical sites, student placements, contractual agreements and securing new clinical affiliations for the Nursing program. Provides professional leadership and support for clinical teaching faculty; serves as a mentor and facilitator for faculty assigned; and enables an environment which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility. Oversees, supervises and manages faculty and students assigned to clinical sites, makes phone or on site visits, mediates conflicts, establishes specific learning objectives, records attendance, and supervises clinical affiliations to ensure that the experience is adequate and achieves a satisfactory level of performance. Remains current in applicable program field, participates in faculty meetings, instructional seminars, and in-service training sessions. Participates in campus activities such as faculty meetings, student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings.

Qualifications:

• Master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university which includes coursework in nursing, education or administration required


• Current Florida Registered Nurse License with Healthcare Provider CPR required


• Must have approval by the Florida Board of Nursing prior to assuming the role of Instructor in Nursing


• Must have at least one year's experience, within the previous five years, as a registered nurse providing direct patient care or equivalent experience and/or education, as determined by the Board of Registered Nursing


• Completion of at least one year's experience teaching courses related to nursing or a course which includes practice in teaching nursing


• One to two years experience working with or in clinical sites, placing students, and coordinating related documents preferred


• Knowledgeable of education standards such as Title IV, ACICS, CCNE, WASC, Board of Registered Nursing and other accreditation standards preferred
