School of Nursing
POSITION: Lecturer, Temporary, Non-tenure-track faculty position with the possibility of renewal for additional quarters.
STARTING DATE: On-going
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must have a master’s degree in nursing or appropriate degree for specialty area from an accredited university. Professional work experience in clinical specialty area. Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a college level. Applicants should have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment, and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural diverse students and faculty. Licensed as a registered Nurse in California.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral Candidate or holds Doctorate. One year clinical teaching experience at the BSN or graduate level. BRN approved in specialty area as appropriate for undergraduate teaching. Certified by state and national organization if for NP/Graduate teaching. Teaching ability in more than one specialty area highly desired.
DUTIES: Faculty will teach in at least one of a variety of undergraduate or graduate clinical courses related to variety of specialties in nursing: simulation, medical surgical nursing, maternal child nursing, psychiatric mental health nursing, pediatric nursing, gerontological nursing, community health pharmacology leadership or advanced practice nursing.
SALARY: Initial salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
