This position involves didactic and clinical instruction of nursing students in the LPN program. The person hired will also serve as coordinator of the PNC program and will be responsible for leading the program through the ACEN accreditation process. Instructional responsibilities include: course development, update and submit all course syllabi in required format, assessment of student outcomes, research and development of current resources for instruction, and utilization and development of instructional design methods that include technology (simulation/online instruction). Evaluation of students including timely reporting of student grades and progress. Recommendations of schedule and new adjunct and clinical supervisors.
Duties of Position: Participate in and contribute to program, divisional and institutional committees, assignments and activities. Committee work will require assignment to faculty committee for nursing. Maintain 10 office hours per week for student consultation and advisement. Participation in professional development, both internal and external, to remain credentialed in nursing and to advance in the instructional role.
Education Requirements: A Master's degree with a major in Nursing is required.
Candidates must have a current unencumbered Registered Nurse license (Illinois) or eligibility for Illinois license.
Experience Requirements: Medical-surgical, pediatric and/or mental healthcare experience required. Two years previous teaching experience preferred. Experience in Practical Nursing program preferred. Long-term care expreience preferred.
