- NRS 433V-Intro to Nursing Research
This writing-intensive course promotes the use of research findings as a basis for improving clinical practice. Quantitative and qualitative research methodologies are presented. Emphasis is on the critical review of research studies and their applications to clinical practice. An overview of evidence-based practice is provided. Prerequisite: PSY 363, BIO 363, or HLT 362V.
- NRS 441V-Professional Research Project
The capstone project is a culmination of the learning experiences while a student in the nursing program at Grand Canyon University's College of Nursing and Health Care Professions. The student will prepare a written proposal for a project whose focus in the resolution of an issue or problem significant to professional nursing practice. The proposal includes a problem description, resolution, implementation, plans, evaluation plans, and proposed dissemination of findings. The professional capstone project proposal needs to reflect synthesis and integration of course content and professional practice. The capstone project is guided by the baccalaureate program student learner outcomes.
The Adjunct for the College of Nursing and Health Care Professions (traditional cohort) will develop and provide instruction that incorporates current teaching methodologies, technologies, and other trends that reflect advances in specific areas of the discipline associated with the individual's teaching assignment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Teaches one or more subjects within prescribed curriculum.
- Prepares and delivers lectures to students.
- Compiles bibliographies of specialized materials for outside reading assignments.
- Stimulates class discussions.
- Compiles, administers, and grades examinations, or assigns this work to others.
- Remains current with new trends and development in his/her field of expertise.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Preferred: PhD or other Terminal Degree.
- Minimum Requirements: Masters - Graduate Degree in Nursing or if not then; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Graduate Degree in relevant or health-related discipline.
- Active and unencumbered RN license in AZ or compact states.
- Minimum of five (5) years RN work experience.
- English, grammar, writing proficiency, and APA style is REQUIRED.
In order to be considered for adjunct teaching opportunities, additional supporting documents are required.
