Position Summary:
The Nursing and Nutrition Department at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Adult Health/Medical-Surgical Nursing. The Nursing Program offers both traditional 4-year and Registered Nurse Baccalaureate Programs. This is a unique opportunity to join a faculty who encourage educational motivation and support a mission that emphasizes excellence in teaching and scholarship.
Responsibilities:
Classroom and on-line instruction, skills laboratory, high-fidelity simulation laboratory and clinical instruction. Service to the department, college and community, student advising and scholarship are also expected.
Required Qualifications:
A Master’s Degree in Nursing in Adult Health, or Medical/Surgical Nursing, or a related specialty, and RN licensure or eligibility for New York State RN licensure is required. Candidates should have demonstrated teaching ability and clinical expertise.
Preferred Qualifications:
An earned Doctorate in Nursing, Nursing Education, or a related field is preferred. Experience working with diverse populations, college-level teaching and high-fidelity Simulation Laboratory Experience preferred.
