Academic Dean For Research School of Nursing

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing is seeking applicants for the position of Associate Dean for Research. UNC-Chapel Hill has established an extraordinarily successful culture of multidisciplinary research collaboration in which nursing is an esteemed partner. School of Nursing faculty members are currently collaborating with faculty from the nationally renowned Gillings School of Global Public Health, the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research, UNC Hospitals, Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute, the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities and the Center for Health Equity Research. The School of Nursing collaborates closely with the recently renewed NC TraCS , UNC’s home for clinical and translational research that was established as part of our successful NIH Clinical Translational Science Award (CTSA). The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is located within the Research Triangle, one of the prominent high-technology research and development centers in the US. The School of Nursing has successfully built a thriving community of emerging and mid-career nurse scientists, clinician associates with cutting-edge practices, and established senior scientists. Faculty research is facilitated by an onsite Biobehavioral Laboratory and a seasoned team of grants specialists and statisticians in the Office of Research Support and Consultation. The Associate Dean for Research will garner these resources and lead the School of Nursing to the next level in its distinguished history of creating the innovative science needed to solve complex local, national and global health issues.

The Associate Dean for Research will oversee the research mission of the School through policy making, facilitating research, developing sustained relationships with Centers and Schools across the UNC system and advocating for the research interests of the School within the University.
