Job Description
The Skills and Simulation Lab Instructors has an appointment as an adjunct faculty member in the Nursing Program of the College of Health Professions at WGU and is a subject matter expert in his or her area of practice. The Instructor is the instructor of record, responsible for the oversight of a cohort of nurses in the clinical learning lab, teaching both nursing skills and (with interest and training), simulated patient care situational scenarios. Courses range from Fundamentals to Medical/Surgical Nursing to Critical Care, Pediatrics, and Women's Health -- giving the Instructor a full range of teaching opportunity in his or her areas of expertise and interest. Required Skills
- Flexibility in working with changing groups of students in a variety of locales.
- Willingness to work 1-3 consecutive weekends every other month as labs occur.
- Good communication skills and computer literacy.
- Experience or interest in teaching nursing skills and/or simulated patient care scenarios using high-fidelity simulation.
Required Experience
- Unencumbered RN license in practice state
- Demonstrated clinical expert in an area of nursing expertise.
- Prior experience in clinical teaching/nursing education.
- MSN Required
