POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible to manage and teach theoretical and practical curricula within the Division of Graduate Studies in Nursing. Agree to travel up to 15 times per year to Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio Education Centers and provide onsite advanced health assessment education.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain current knowledge of The Essentials of Master's Education in Nursing and The Essentials of Master's Education for Advanced Practice, and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties core competencies for NPs.
- Supervise and evaluate student progress in clinical learning experiences in accordance with established divisional and school policies.
- Maintain appropriate student records for assisting students in self-evaluation, career planning, and spiritual formation, and corrective planning with students falling below the standard.
- Communicate regularly with students, lead faculty, preceptors, site visitors, and clinical/educational sites regarding student progress to ensure a positive and favorable learning environment and facilitate student success.
- Utilize evidence to assist with developing, planning, implementation, evaluation, and modification of the MSN and PYC program curriculum according to the National Task Force criteria.
- Facilitate cooperative relationships with outside agencies including, clinical sites, and colleges and universities to assist with securing, mentoring, and evaluating of peers, preceptors, clinical sites, and site visitors.
- Attend and participate in division, faculty, advisory committees, clinical agencies, graduation, retreat, convocation, and other university, SON, and division activities, as scheduled and/or expected.
- Engage in scholarly/professional development activities to maintain and enhance course content and instructional skills. (External employment to maintain FNP practice expertise not to exceed 15 hours per week.)
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner, follow established university and division policies and procedures, and complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Earned doctorate in Nursing or other
- Master of Science in Nursing
- CPR certified
- Active, unencumbered Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio licenses, or willing/able to secure
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner

- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work well with a team and yet be able to work independently
- Ability to accurately follow instructions
- Excellent organization skills
- Excellent word processing, database and spreadsheet skills
- Ability to professionally handle confidential information
