Duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Provides instruction and intervention strategies for the retention and success of all students and for enhancing student learning at all levels, but particularly for underprepared students. Assists with the design, organization, facilitation and evaluation of the instructional activities of the multidisciplinary success center. Assists other faculty in identifying and recommending solutions for addressing individual student learning needs. Assists in providing direction to and supervision of student workers as assigned in the Student Success Centers. Assignment may include evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree to teach any master’s level discipline in which learning assistance or tutoring is provided, which includes the following disciplines, accounting, allied health, art history, biological science, business, child development, computer science, dietetics, English, foreign language, history, humanities, mathematics, music, nursing, philosophy, physical science, social science; OR,
Master’s degree in education, educational psychology, instructional psychology or creative writing, or other Master’s degree with emphasis in adult learning theory; OR,
Hold a valid credential to teach in the discipline.
The equivalent
Evidence of sensitivity, understanding, and ability to manage the classroom environment AND effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
