Associate Dean of Nursing, Academic

We are currently seeking an Associate Dean of Nursing, Academic for our Dallas Campus. This is an outstanding opportunity for a professional to join a growing university as we expand our academic programs in health care and related fields.


Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Campus Dean of Nursing, assists with providing leadership in managing and implementing a comprehensive registered nurse program for delivery in support of College, campus, and/or departmental goals in order to assure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure, internal consistency, and graduate outcomes that meet workplace and placement expectations. Participates in budget preparation and fiscal administration, curriculum development and coordination, determination of teaching assignments, supervision and evaluation of faculty, and selection/coordination of program-specific external clinical facilities and instruction. Provides professional leadership and support for teaching faculty; serves as a mentor and facilitator for faculty assigned; and enables an environment which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility.


Qualifications:



  • Master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university which includes course work in nursing, education or business administration required.

  • Current RN license.

  • Minimum two years teaching experience with 1 year direct patient care experience required.

  • Minimum three to five years experience in administration in an academia or healthcare environment.

  • Knowledge in technological support and delivery of educational programs and services.

  • Knowledge and evidence of strong supervisory and management skills, and administrative systems management as applicable to specialized program area.

  • Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance and other regulatory standards such as ACICS, CCNE, WASC and other accreditation standards.

  • Proficient skills and experience in Microsoft Office computer software systems that includes word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software. Previous experience in CampusVue preferred.

  • Current Drivers License.

  • Must meet CA Board of Nursing regulation.
