Posting Description: The University of Colorado College of Nursing is seeking a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) for a full-time Instructor position with the Center for Midwifery (CFM) in Aurora, CO at the Anschutz Medical Campus. This position includes a faculty role within the College of Nursing and is full scope including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, well woman and gynecological care to an educated population of women seeking midwifery care. CFM is a faculty midwifery practice consisting of 5 CNMs. The Center for Midwifery is private practice model which works collaboratively within the OB/GYN department. We offer women and families many services including individualized care, alternative labor/birth options, childbirth education, lactation services, mental health services, water birth and referrals to physician groups in other departments. The practice provides full-scope midwifery care to women at two locations with births occurring at the University of Colorado Hospital Birth Center. CFM believes that women benefit from personalized and comprehensive care that focuses on the patient while including the family in the plan of care. We serve women who desire an alternative labor and birth experience with water birth option. The nurse-midwife will be part of a midwifery service that has a long and successful history within the University of Colorado system. Minimum Qualifications: * Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or midwifery * Current AMCB certification * State RN & APN Licensure * BLS and NRP Certification
Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and abilities: * Independent judgment is necessary to monitor and respond to changes in a client's condition * Interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and other members of the health care team
