The Department of Nursing at North Carolina Central University invites applications for a full- time tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant Professor with administrative assignments.

This is an EPA (Exempt from the State Personnel Act) position. The baccalaureate nursing program serves over 500 students in traditional BSN, accelerated second degree BSN and RN-BSN program tracks.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. The ability to work independently as well as with others to ensure student learning and program excellence is expected. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of collegiate teaching experience, basic computer skills, as well as recent clinical experience (within the past three years) in direct patient care. Distance education course work and simulation learning experiences are preferred. We are seeking candidates with collegial and collaborative leadership experience and a vision for the integration of teaching practice and scholarship.


TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:


An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field is required; a master's degree in nursing is required. Primary responsibilities will include management of day-to-day activities of each program track as well as services in the Office of Student Support. The Assistant Professor with administrative duties holds rank as a faculty member with teaching and administrative responsibilities. Scholarly pursuits within the discipline are an expectation and include activities such as publication, grant writing, research, and invited presentations. Service within the nursing program, the university and the wider community are also required.
