We invite applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the department of Interprofessional Undergraduate Studies for our Nursing Program. Reporting to the Chair of their respective program, the Assistant Professor is responsible for development, planning, implementation and evaluation of the theoretical and/or clinical/lab components of assigned courses in the program of which they are teaching, and assumes a role in systematic evaluation of the program/college accreditation activities. They also have potential to assume a leadership or coordinating role in assigned courses or committees. This is a nine month, 24 teaching hour credit per year position at a dynamic institution that currently has a 100% NCLEX pass rate for the Associate of Science in Nursing graduates and a >91% pass rate for Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduates.
Education:
- Master's degree in Nursing or within 8 weeks of completion at time of hire
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical practice or educational setting
Skills:
- Knowledge of educational principles, teaching strategies and instructional media
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups
- Skill in providing practice-based health care education and supporting students from diverse backgrounds
- Competency in proper use of software and office equipment, procedures and other specialized equipment
- Ability to mentor peers
Licensure/Certification:
- Required licensure, registration, certifications and/or qualifications that meet current standards set by governing or accrediting body
