Position Objective:

Broward College invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track teaching position in Nursing.


Candidates should be passionate educators who can facilitate the needs of diverse 21st century learners.


This is a 163 calendar day contract position.


The anticipated hire date is January 2014.


Minimum Education:

Master's Degree in Nursing and Florida Registered Nursing License without restrictions required.


Minimum Experience/Training:

Minimum experience of five years of Medical-Surgical Hospital Clinical Experience required.


Peds and/or Psych and/or OB clinical experience preferred.


Basic computer skills including word and excel and interest in teaching online classes.


Teaching experience in a college or post secondary institution is preferred. Committee work will be needed.


The successful candidate will be expected to maintain active professional development activities and service to the Department and College.


All schedules require office hours and some may require evening and/or weekend hours.


Minimum Certification/Licenses:

Must have a current, active Florida Registered Nurse license without restrictions; current or pending.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidates should demonstrate (1) a mastery of their specific discipline; (2) a deep commitment to the college mission of fostering student success, achievement and persistence; (3) technology competencies as well as teaching/counseling skills and strategies that facilitate 21st century literacies; (4) the use of resources that prepare students for productive lives.
