Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (2 Positions)

Required Qualifications: New York State License as a Nurse Practitioner. Master's degree in Nursing or completion of a course for Nurse Practitioner and certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. One year of full time clinical experience working in a Newborn Nursery. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to carry out assignments independently.

Preferred Qualifications: Five or more years of clinical experience working in a Newborn Nursery.


Responsibilities & Requirements: The Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNP) will provide direct care to select patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Stony Brook LI Children's Hospital and network affiliate hospitals in collaboration with an attending Neonatologist. The incumbent will also be responsible for:



  • Assisting in the annual review of NNP protocols.

  • Instructing residents and NP students in DR resuscitation and NICU stabilization skills (e.g. NRP).


Special Notes: These are non-tenure track positions. These are full time appointments. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
