Position Classification: Full-Time Nine (9) Month Faculty
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Academic Rank: Assistant Professor
1. Education - Master's Degree in Nursing from an NLN or AACN accredited program required.
2. Experience - Two (2) years teaching experience in a classroom and/or clinical setting is required; two (2) years current professional nursing practice in a nursing care setting is required; Registered Nurse licensure in Pennsylvania. Distance Learning and Simulation experience preferred.
3. Skills - Demonstrated proficiency in teaching and supervising Nursing students in clinical skills; demonstrated curriculum development ability; demonstrated communication skills both oral and written; demonstrated leadership and teaching ability; demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies.
Position Responsibilities:
Classroom, campus laboratory and clinical teaching of Medical Surgical Nursing and/or Psychiatric Nursing, and/or Maternal Child Nursing, as assigned; instructor will be responsible for preparation, curriculum development and instruction in theory, campus lab, and clinical nursing; coordination of learning experiences with clinical agencies as assigned; planning, instruction and evaluation of clinical experiences for students; responsible for attending and actively participating in weekly Nursing Department faculty, team and committee meetings on the main campus and participating on college committees; perform such other reasonable duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
Entry Salary: Assistant Professor - $34,089.00
Standard Work Week: 35 hours
