- Communicate effectively with state educational bodies and accrediting agencies.
- Establish program objectives and outcomes and ensure they are met.
- Work with local hospitals to establish clinical rotation sites.
- Help design an effective admissions process.
- Oversee all curriculum development and implementation.
- Hire and oversee training of faculty.
- Work with faculty to create effective course materials.
- Design and equip the physical facilities.
- Teach courses as needed.
The ideal candidates should have the following credentials and background:
- New York State registered nurse with master's degree or doctorate in nursing or education.
- Administrative experience in a college level academic setting. Previous experience as a director of a practical nursing program is preferred.
- Teaching and curriculum development experience in a practical nursing program.
- Hospital-based nursing experience.
- Strong communication skills and collaborative management style.
