Nursing Division Chair

Southern Vermont College seeks a Chair for the Division of Nursing (DON) to begin in spring 2014 or summer 2014 at the latest. The Chair is responsible for the overall administration and development of the College's Nursing program. The Chair reports directly to the Provost, represents the DON in matters of College governance, and serves as a liaison with the larger healthcare community.

A doctoral degree in Nursing or an appropriate discipline is required along with a master's degree in Nursing. The position requires a minimum of five years as a full-time faculty member in an academically based Nursing education program and current licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice in Vermont. Experience including academic lecturing and clinical supervision, CCNE accreditation, program assessment, faculty development, and academic curriculum development is required. A record of service and scholarship is also desirable. The Chair needs to possess a strong sense of collaboration and transformative leadership skills; in particular, the Chair must possess the ability to engage in creative programmatic development, to foster innovative pedagogies and technologies, and to envision future opportunities.
