Overview:

Quinnipiac University - School of Nursing invites applicants to apply for full-time tenure track (9.5 month and/or 12 month) faculty positions.


The School of Nursing serves a rapidly growing population of graduate and undergraduate students, currently over 700 students. Our dynamic partnerships between faculty across health disciplines and clinical affiliates offer cutting-edge opportunities for collaboration and programming that position us for national recognition. Working with our colleagues in medicine, rehabilitative medicine and diagnostic imaging, we envision becoming a national model for interprofessional educational excellence that uniquely prepares graduates for the challenges of today's healthcare system. The School of Nursing currently offers traditional, accelerated, and RN-to-BSN programs at the baccalaureate level. At the graduate level, our MSN- NP and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs prepare baccalaureate graduates to be adult-gerontology or family nurse practitioners. We also offer a post- master's option in the care of populations. Doctoral programs targeted to open next year (pending requisite approvals) include nurse anesthesia and executive nurse leader. The Quinnipiac School of Nursing is located in a new, 325,000 square foot Center for Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, located on the beautifully landscaped grounds of our North Haven Campus. The Center is designed for collaborative learning among students pursuing degrees in medicine, nursing and the health professions. Our exceptional, shared resources include 24 teaching laboratories, seven high fidelity simulation suites including 2 operating suites and post anesthesia recovery, physical exam suites, a 'high tech' accessible apartment, large conference spaces, diagnostic imaging equipment, a health sciences library, numerous standardized patient rooms and a 48-station anatomy dissection laboratory, team study rooms, student lounges, an outdoor café and multifunction class and seminar rooms.


Responsibilities:


Faculty will maintain a full-time teaching load. Applicants should be prepared to teach across graduate and undergraduate curricula, pursue a program of scholarship and engage in service to the school, university and profession. The qualified candidate will be responsible for teaching in graduate courses, such as Pediatric or Adult Health Assessment and/or in undergraduate courses, such as Care of Women, Children and Families or Community and Public Health Nursing. Faculty are expected to develop and/or maintain an active program of research and scholarship leading to publication in national scholarly journals. Faculty are expected to advise and mentor students and serve on school, interprofessional, and university committees.


Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants:



  • Earned doctorate in nursing or a master's degree in nursing with a doctorate in a related field.

  • Eligibility for Connecticut RN and/or APRN licensure.

  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: behavioral health, maternal-child, pediatrics, community/public health, or medical/surgical nursing.

  • Current or recent practice in clinical nursing.

  • Experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing education.

  • Evidence of a scholarly trajectory.

  • Specialty certification is preferred

  • APRN certification is preferred
