Functions/Duties of Position
****This is a faculty & a supervisory position****
Job Summary: The AGACNP Program Director has responsibility and authority for program structure and operations with appropriate fiscal responsibility to assure that the program adheres to accreditation, state nurse practice act, curricular and program standards.
The duties of this position include:
1. Clinical Activities: Plans and supervises student lab and/or clinical experiences or practica based on teaching assignment.
2. Scholarly Activities: Participates in scholarly activities based on faculty rank.
3. Education Activities: Provides effective didactic instruction based on teaching assignment using appropriate instructional technologies to ensure that course outcomes are met. Participates collaboratively in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum. Mentors and advises students.
4. Service Activities: These activities could include faculty meetings, committee membership, professional activities and other responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Associate Dean for Practice Graduate & Clinical Programs. Participates in faculty governance; additional engagement based on rank.
5. Administrative Activities: As the AGACNP Program Director, this position has responsibility and authority for program structure and operations with appropriate fiscal responsibility to assure that the program adheres to accreditation, state nurse practice act, curricular and program standards.
6. Other Activities: The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. Mentorship of faculty.
Job Requirements
Doctoral degree required. Other requirements: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner education, board certification, and eligibility for Oregon ACNP license; teaching experience, especially at the APN level; clinical experience in the ACNP role. Administrative experience highly desired. A track record of progressive development in research or scholarly practice is expected.
Demonstrated ability to satisfy standards of performance delineated by law and associated professional practice standards, the latter set forth as an addendum to the position description. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Proficient in the use of computing hardware and software, including personal computing equipment, electronic medical record, word processing and spreadsheet software.
