Job Summary
This posting represents anticipated ongoing part time instructor openings in both the Clinical and the Skills Lab areas in the field of Nursing.

All newly hired part-time Faculty will be placed on Step 1 of the part time faculty salary schedule.
Full term pay rate may vary by course. Actual term pay is based on the course catalog contact hours multiplied by the appropriate hourly rate.
These positions are included in the bargaining agreement between Portland Community College and the Portland Community College Faculty Federation Employees. Employment in these positions will requires, as a condition of employment, payment of monthly union dues or a monthly fair share fee in lieu of dues through automatic payroll deduction.
Portland Community College will hire only United States citizens and aliens lawfully authorized to work in the United States. All new employees will be required to complete the designated Immigration Service Employers Verification I-9 form.
Responsibilities/Duties
The Clinical Instructor scope of work:
Supervises, instructs, and evaluates nursing students in a clinical setting. An instructor is assigned to a clinical site for 2 days or evenings a week/term. The instructor will supervise between 6 to 8 students at one time. Primary communication will be with the appropriate nursing faculty team coordinator, but the instructor will be under the supervision of the director of the Nursing Program.
The Skills Lab Instructor scope of work:
Instructs and evaluates nursing students in the on-campus skills lab setting. Each lab provides an instructor student ratio of 1:6. There are 2 to 3 instructors assigned to every lab session. Primary communication will be with the skills lab team coordinator, but the instructor will be under the supervision of the director of the Nursing Program.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree in nursing (a majority of the part time faculty must hold a Master's degree in nursing, as required by NLNAC Standard 2)
AND
At least two years of nursing experience
AND
Hold a current, unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Oregon.
- Instructors shall have earned required academic credential at a regionally accredited institution.
