he two-year Associate Degree Nursing Program, accredited by the Board of Registered Nursing and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, prepares students for entry-level employment as registered nurses in hospitals and community settings. Teaching assignments will be available in the medical/surgical, mental health, obstetrics and pediatric clinical areas of the program. Faculty will be responsible for supervising students in clinical learning experiences, campus-based nursing practice labs, seminar groups, and nursing simulation labs during the first or second year of the program. Faculty may have lecture and/or clinical teaching assignment in more than one course. Part-time faculty assignments may consist of up to 60% of a full-time faculty load.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Nursing OR
Bachelor's in nursing AND Master's in health education or health science OR

he equivalent - Candidates not possessing the required qualifications as stated above must explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above;
Valid California Registered Nurse License or eligibility for California Licensure as a registered nurse, AND
Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, and of individuals with disabilities.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Clinical experience in an acute care facility demonstrating expertise in medical-surgical, mental health, obstetric and/or pediatric nursing.
Recent experience in more than one nursing discipline area is highly desirable.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Part-time teaching assignment(s) for the fall semester, beginning August 22, 2013 and/or spring semester, beginning January 18, 2014. Offer and acceptance of employment is subject to verification of all information provided on the employment application, credential(s), transcripts, fingerprint results, and tuberculosis examination as required. Candidates selected for employment will be required to provide verification of work authorization in the form of a passport, valid driver's license, or other equivalent identification, and social security card.
SALARY
Part-time faculty members are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of class hours assigned per semester and on cumulative semesters of instruction for the District. The beginning rate is $73.73 - $94.11 (lecture), $53.10 - $71.31 (lab) per hour depending on education and experience.
