As directed by the Vice President of Instruction and the Program Director, plans and teaches assigned didactic, laboratory, and clinical classes, providing hands-on instruction and practical training; uses instructional technology and active learning approaches to create an engaging learning environment; evaluates effectiveness of instruction plans, delivery; assesses student academic performance and maintains student records.
Preference will be given to the candidate with:
Contributes to the selection and development of curriculum and assists in the revision and development of course outlines, syllabi, and other instructional documentation required to meet program objectives.
The PN instructor must have:
- Master's degree in Nursing or be currently enrolled in a Masters of Nursing;
- A current unrestricted registered nurse license in the state of Utah or ability to obtain prior to start date;
- Thirty six (36) months full-time employment or the equivalent experience in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse in a hospital or primary care facility;
- Preparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation;
- CPR Certification - Health Care Provider.
- Knowledge of nursing practice for the licensed practical nurse;
- The ability to work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week according to a flexible schedule which may include day, evening, and/or weekend responsibilities and duties.
- The PN instructor must maintain competence in the areas of assigned responsibility.
Preference will be given to the candidate with:
- A Masters in Nursing Education
- Previous experience with NLNAC accreditation;
- Previous experience as a program director or administrator;
