Nursing Course Coordinator – Medical Surgical Nursing I

We are currently seeking a full-time Faculty/ Nursing Course Coordinator for the Medical Surgical Nursing I course in the LPN to RN program.


Position: Nursing Course Coordinator - Medical Surgical Nursing I

Reports To: Director of the Associate Degree Program

Supervises: Full-time and Adjunct Faculty


Primary responsibilities include:



  • Planning, supervising, and evaluating all aspects of the Medical Surgical I course.

  • Collaborating and recommending curriculum updates that ensure that course content is current and reflects the most recent evidence-based practices.

  • Providing consistent day and evening classroom and clinical learning experiences for all students taking the course.

  • Assigning students to clinical groups.

  • Serving as a resource person to the classroom and clinical faculty.

  • Teaching course content in the classroom and/or clinical setting.

  • Attending department meetings, and performing college committee obligations.


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in Nursing.

  • Must be a licensed registered nurse.

  • A minimum of three years of teaching experience.

  • Clinical medical surgical experience.

  • Demonstrated experience managing faculty and students at the associate degree level.

  • Ability to communicate professionally, with clarity and brevity, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and to handle a variety of individuals and situations.

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Proficiency in online technology.

  • Some traveling between clinical sites.
