Summary: Your initial duties will include teaching both undergraduate or graduate levels, as applicable; course and/or curriculum development; involvement on College and University committees and/or initiatives; as well as duties as assigned. Florida Gulf Coast University is a comprehensive university dedicated to quality education, research, and service. Teaching assignments may be on the main campus or at off-campus sites within our region.
Job Responsibilities:
- Teaches at the undergraduate level in courses such as: NUR 3056C Health Assessment, NUR 3125 Pathophysiology, NUR 3145 Pharmacology, NUR 3226 Adult Health I, NUR 3226L Adult Health Clinical, NUR 4227 Adult Health II, NUR 4227L Adult Health Clinical and NUR 3829C Foundations of Nursing Practice. Conducts clinical teaching and simulation labs and advising. Expectations for scholarship will be those identified for rank as described in FPED and College documents. Service to School, College, University, and professional community is expected in the form of committees, accreditation activities, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong communication skills and computer skills using web-based applications and Microsoft Office.
Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning & University teaching. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Values continued scholarship and service to the school and University.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited nursing program or equivalent accreditation and five (5) years of clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing. Current unrestricted RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Florida. Strong communication skills and computer skills using web-based applications and Microsoft Office.
Candidates seeking Associate Professor rank are required to have teaching experience at the University level and a scholarship record commensurate for appointment at that rank.
Preferred Qualifications: Earned Doctorate in Nursing or related field from an accredited institution/program. Experience as a faculty member in a nursing education program at a college/university level. Evidence of established research agenda leading to professional presentations, research, and/or publications. Service in professional organizations (e.g. membership and/or committee involvement).

Appointment will be made at a faculty rank commensurate with the candidate's experience on a 12 month multi-year appointment basis available August 2014.
