Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing

Job Summary/Basic Functions

This 9-month tenure-track, tenure-eligible position requires a Research Doctorate in Nursing or closely related field. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate potential for teaching excellence in traditional and online settings. At the Assistant Professor level, the candidate must show potential to develop a successful and ongoing program of research and publication. At the Associate Professor level, the candidate must provide evidence of a well-developed program of research and publication, with preference given to those candidates who have successfully secured external grant funding. General workload is 60% teaching, 20% scholarship and 20% service, with onsite and online instruction available as well as clinical site practicums

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a Research Doctorate in Nursing or closely related field. At least one graduate degree must be in nursing and candidate must be eligible for an unencumbered RN license in the State of Colorado by start date. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate potential for teaching excellence in traditional and online settings, evidence of sustained scholarly activity, including securing outside funding and an interest in serving the profession. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching nursing and provide evidence of a successful program of research and publication.


Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants with teaching/research experience in nursing at the baccalaureate or higher levels, and recent clinical experience.

Salary and Benefits

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, life, and dental insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed as 0.5FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.
