Purpose of Position:
The Department of Advanced Nursing Studies, in the College of Health Professions at Northern Kentucky University, invites applications for the position of Department Chair. This department includes the post licensure programs: RN-BSN, Master of Science in Nursing, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice. This is a twelve-month position for an individual with qualifications commensurate with the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Chair will promote the continued development of our programs and vision, serving as a catalyst for change in the area of program expansion. The Chair will also lead department efforts in infrastructure support, online and on-campus program outreach and development. The Chair maintains standards for professional accreditation and collaborates with the College and University to sustain strategic planning and priorities consistent with the NKU mission and core values. Qualifications:
The successful candidate will:
- Possess the Master of Science degree in Nursing and a doctoral degree in nursing or related field.
- Be currently licensed and eligible for licensure in Kentucky
- Demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities in the areas of operations and management of an educational program including accreditation, personnel, and budgetary responsibilities.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; able to work effectively in a transdisciplinary environment, fostering consensus and collaboration among faculty and staff
