School of Nursing--Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor
The George Mason University, School of Nursing within the College of Health and Human Services invites nurses to apply for a full-time, tenure-track, nine-month, Assistant or Associate Professor position to begin spring 2014.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral-level courses; support the teaching, practice and research mission of the school; advise students; participate in curriculum development and program evaluation activities; direct and serve on practice inquiry projects and dissertations; participate in committees and school governance activities; and engage in scholarship and community service.
Qualifications:
We are seeking an innovative, highly motivated individual who is an outstanding educator and researcher. The applicant is expected to have a strong program of research, with a proven history of previous research funding, as well as experience in an academic educational setting.
Required Qualifications:
- A doctorate in nursing (DNS, Ph.D.); the doctorate in nursing practice is currently not eligible for this position;
- A current unencumbered license, or eligibility for license, in Virginia;
- Five or more years of practice and teaching experience; and
- Experience in extramural funding.
Desired Qualifications:
- Research experience in public health, epidemiology, chronic health conditions, sleep disturbance and disorders, psychiatric/mental health, or maternal-child health; and
- Expertise or experience in simulation and online learning.
Salary: Salary is commensurate with rank and experience and is highly competitive.
