Job Description
Xavier University, a Catholic University in the Jesuit tradition, invites applications for anon-tenure track clinical faculty position in the Department of Nursing beginning in August 2014.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all practicum sites for the BSN and MIDAS programs
- Serve as a liaison for dedicated education units (DEU) and health care placements between the school and health care partners
- Collaborates with clinical coordinators to facilitate site selection and evaluation
- Work with assignment of preceptors and tracking of Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) preceptors
- Oversee maintenance of clinical contracts
- Procures new practicum sites and DEU
- Facilitate all nursing continuing education for the School of Nursing
- Coordinate with the Ohio Nurses Association to maintain providership status for continuing education
- Maintain record keeping according to Ohio Nurses Association standards
- Teach a reduced credit hour load of courses
Required Qualifications:
- degree in nursing with a current, unencumbered registered nurse license in Ohio
- at least two years experience in the practice of nursing
- Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills
- Ability to use advanced technology for tracking and maintaining data bases related to practicum experiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous clinical and teaching experience in baccalaureate or graduate education
- Knowledge of curriculum development, methods of teaching and evaluation along with excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Demonstration of scholarship with a commitment to community service is expected
