The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure track Obstetrics/Maternal-Child faculty position at the undergraduate level in the Department of Nursing. The start date for the position is August 2014. The Department of Nursing at SUNY Canton has a one year practical nursing certificate program, an accredited two-year AAS nursing program and a RN-BS online program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction and evaluate student comprehension using criterion referenced methods of evaluation; plan and participate in program, department and university activities; prepare instructional and learning guides for courses; participate in curriculum development and revision process; maintain clinical expertise; participate in scholarly activity, university and community service. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Nursing required. Eligible for or licensed as a registered nurse in New York State. Must have a minimum of two years nursing experience within the past five years in the obstetric clinical area or functional area of responsibility. A terminal degree in nursing or related field from a regionally accredited institution is preferred and will be required for tenure. Preferred candidates will have prior college level teaching experience in either the face-to-face or online environment.
Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational or other credential verification, and criminal background check.
