The Department of Nursing offers two programs: the ASN Program and RN-BSN Program. Currently the department is seeking energetic nursing faculty committed to preparing graduates to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to serve as an effective member of the healthcare team in the delivery of quality patient-centered care.
Job Summary ASN Faculty: This is a 9 month academic appointment with opportunities to teach in the summer. The candidate would be responsible for classroom and clinical instruction in medical surgical settings and must be committed to providing a learning environment for students that promotes academic success. Additional responsibilities for FT faculty include: student advising, professional service, active participation on university and department committees.
Job Summary RN-BSN Faculty: This is a 9 month academic appointment with opportunities to teach in the summer. The candidate would be responsible for teaching courses online. Knowledge and experience with Quality Matters and online teaching is a plus. Additional responsibilities for FT faculty include: student advising, professional service, active participation on university and department committees.
Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Nursing: doctorate preferred for RN-BSN Program
- Louisiana RN License
- Minimum 2 years clinical practice
- Teaching experience preferred but willing to mentor individuals who share a passion for nursing and educating students pursuing a nursing degree.
