Assistant Professor: Maternal-Child Nursing

Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs particularly the components of the curriculum related to Maternal-Child Nursing practice and use of the nursing process. Responsible for classroom and clinical teaching of undergraduate and graduate students at all levels of the curriculum with particular academic classroom instruction that focuses on Maternal-Child Nursing practice. Effective teaching will encompass the integration of the nursing process, critical thinking with professional development to encourage students as independent learners and decision makers. Actively participates in scholarly work and service related activities particular to his/her area of specialty and/or interests.

Requirements: An earned doctorate in nursing or related field. A Masters degree in Nursing and must be licensed or eligible for licensure in California. Academic teaching experience and scholarship with recent Maternal-Child clinical practice expertise is desired. Competency in academic program development, implementation and evaluation is desired. The ability to work and collaborated successfully within a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural setting.

Preferred qualifications: include masters in Maternal-Child Nursing and/or certification as a Maternal-Child Nurse Practitioner college level teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate level; and, curriculum development at the college level.
