Averett University seeks a full-time nurse educator with a specialty in obstetrics for a tenure track position in its new BSN program. The qualified applicant must have enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring student nurses. Averett is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and will see accreditation of the nursing program from ACEN. The program received provisional approval by the Virginia Board of Nursing in May.

24 semester credits in a 9-month academic year
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in nursing or DNP
- Clinical and didactic teaching experience, preferably at the BSN level
- Three (3) years of clinical practice experience in obstetrics
- Current active unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in Virginia
- Experience with online learning and assessment of student learning
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Duties
- 12 credit hours of theoretical and clinical instruction per semester
- Curriculum development; student advising
- Other duties as described in the Faculty Handbook that can be found online
