Urologic Procedures Technologist – UCLA Health System – Los Angeles, CA

Under the direct supervision of the Medical Director of Clinic Operations and the MSO II / Practice Support Nursing Manager for the Department of Urology, the Urologic Procedures Technologist will provide patient care support for the Urology outpatient clinic. The technologist will primarily be responsible for performing the fluoroscopy component of urodynamics or other plain urology imaging studies or C-arm guidance support, under the direction of the Clinical Nurse. Duties include confirming appointments for procedures, providing patient education prior to the examination, preparing and maintaining instruments and equipment and supplies used in patient procedures, collect data regarding procedures, assist in performing sterile technique procedures, and participating in quality assurance activities. The technologist will be responsible for stocking the procedure rooms on an ongoing basis, sterilizing equipment, and assist in ordering needed supplies. The technologist is expected to possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position; graduate of a Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American Medical Association or equivalent training, maintain current CRT, CRT-Fluoroscopy and ARRT licensure. Other duties as assigned.

Required - Maintain patient and family privacy, comfort, dignity and safety.

Required - Ability to provide patient education.

Required - Ability to have flexibility in work schedule, as needed.

Required - Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively and diplomatically communicate with patients, visitors, physicians and other personnel.

Required - Ability to be courteous, professional, and diplomatic in any given situation, particularly with patients who are anxious, scared, and agitated.

Required - Ability to show attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.

Required - Ability to utilize University and Department computer software programs and systems for data collection.

Required - Other duties as assigned.
